Coach Education College Presentation Evening 2011

Bolton Wanderers star Gary Cahill was in attendance at the annual Coach Education College Presentation on Thursday 12th May at the Reebok Stadium to help celebrate the achievements of over 150 students who have been studying for football based coaching qualifications over the past 12 months throughout the North West.

The Coach Education department at BWFC has been in operation for seven years and the Club are the only ones in the Premier League who deliver FA coaching qualifications along with NVQ Level 2 & 3 Programmes in Coaching, Teaching and Instructing Association Football which are run at five colleges throughout the North West – the programmes help to develop young people in their coaching and communication skills which leads to greater self-awareness.

Gary’s time at the presentation evening was spent finding out more about the work that the Coach Education department do with local colleges including those from Bolton, Preston, Eccles, Saint John Rigby and South Cheshire and also the relationship with the BWFC International Soccer School who deliver coaching sessions to various age groups all over the world which has led to 65 students being employed since the courses began.

Gary presented the Students of the Year from each of the attending colleges with their certificates and also awarded trophies to the teams who were runners-up, South Cheshire, and winners, Saint John Rigby, in the recent College Cup competition.

Speaking after attending the presentation evening, Gary said:

“I have enjoyed spending my time here tonight acknowledging the hard work and successes of these students. They have all been accepting their awards with smiles on their faces which is a credit to our Coach Education department and the great job they are doing.”
