"I have been working with Bolton Wanderers for two years offfering both Apprenticeships and NVQ's in Coaching Football. The courses offered are attractive to young people; tutors are very reliable and extremely proffessional. The impact of the high quality teaching and learning can be seen in the outstanding success rates and progression into related employment of Level 3 Coaching Programmes. Last year I recruited 28 students for the Apprenticeship Programme, all students achieved and many gained employment in Europe and north America by successful completion of this course. The support offered by the education team is exemplary: the learning resources offered are exceptional and tailored to the needs of students. The range of qualifications packed into the NVQ Programme are tailored to making students job ready, i.e. First Aid, Chil Protection, Refereess Course in addition to the coaching qualification and the NVQ. Success is built into the programme within the first six weeks which students found to be very motivational. If you are looking to offer students a high quality applied learning programme then I would wholeheartedly recommend the NVQ Coaching Football Course. This is one of the most successful courses we have offered to our students for some time.

"St John Rigby College is delighted to be a partner with Bolton Wanderers in delivering the Level 2 NVQ in Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations: Coaching, Teaching and Instructing (Association Football).

In 2008-09 nineteen students successfully completed all six elements of the course and all progressed onto Level 3 coaching programmes or employment. We are anticipating the same excellent results this year. The quality of the instruction and care for the students provided by the highly qualified Bolton Wanderers staff has been outstanding. They worked hand-in-hand with the College from day one keeping students focussed and on target for these fabulous results. Highlights of the course included visits to the Reebok Stadium and Bolton Wanderers’ training ground and Nottingham Forest’s City Ground and training facilities as well as the Presentation Evening at the Reebok.

St John Rigby College looks forward to continuing this close working relationship with Bolton Wanderers for the benefit of our students. Indeed Ofsted Inspectors found: A good partnership has been established with Bolton Wanderers FC which is having significant benefits for the newly established apprenticeship coaching programme."
